PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

Many people are excited about using their skills and experience to benefit their communities, hep others or support good causes. But they don’t always know how to target their interest or find a compatible organization or cause. COVE offers a process and a set if tools to hemp individuals align their interests and skills to the needs of mission driven en organizations and find meaningful and satisfying work opportunities.

OBJECTIVES:

Provide guidance, tools and confidence to help potential volunteers find meaningful and satisfying opportunities to contribute their skills and experience.

TARGET POPULATION:  Age 50 and over

BENEFITS/OUTCOMES:

  1. Higher quality volunteer work opportunities
  2. Improved opportunity for meaningful contribution and satisfaction among volunteers
  3. Increased capacity and greater value for host organizations
  4. Studies show that adults engaged in meaningful work live longer, healthier lives. A collective benefit is the strengthened ability to address societal needs and issues.

VOLUNTEERS:  1 Workshop Organizer

HOURS PER MONTH: 2-3 hours per workshop plus preparation, promotion and follow-up time.

COSTS/FUNDING: Printing of workbook and toolkits for participants

TRAINING:  No formal facilitator training is available at present, but could be arrange for a fee.
